A former president of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), Mr Williams is a successful property auctioneer with more than 15 years of experience who has worked his way through the ranks of both the NAEA and NAVA.

Mr Williams said:

“I am honoured and excited at becoming the new chairman of NAVA. I’m looking forward to promoting the role of NAVA within the NFoPP umbrella, and the ways in which NAEA and NAVA membership compliment each other.

“Many homeowners are now considering selling or buying a property at auction, and NAVA members can play a critical role in achieving the right price for your property and ensuring that you don’t come across any unwanted surprises.

"I am also keen to promote all of the broader skills which NAVA members can offer, including insolvency, chattels and commercial property over the coming year.”

Mr Williams has spent his career as a chartered surveyor and auctioneer, and is a co-partner of The Property People: Williams & Goodwin estate agents in North Wales, which was named Best Estate Agents in Wales in both 2008 and 2009.

The company focuses on sales, lettings and property auctions.  NAVA is a sister organisation of the NAEA and represents around 7,500 of the UK’s leading estate agents and auctioneers.

Melfyn Williams takes over from NAVA’s outgoing Chairman, Charles Smailes.
