The scheme, exclusively available to BIBA members, complements BIBA’s existing travel insurance product and extends the offering to include cover for elderly travellers and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

BIBA Medical Travel will allow BIBA members to provide travel insurance to people on existing hospital waiting lists and those still undergoing medical treatment, including chemotherapy.  It offers optional ‘Travelling Companion’ cover, providing others in the travelling party, not covered directly under the policy, cover if the medical condition of the insured forces them to also cancel their trip.

Peter Staddon, Head of Technical Services at BIBA, said:

“We are very pleased with this partnership as we are receiving more and more calls from the public who are having difficulty in finding good quality, cost effective cover.  Our new scheme with AllClear will help plug this gap.”

BIBA members will now be able to offer customers a quote for everyone in the travelling party covering virtually any medical or age scenario, resulting in improved customer satisfaction and customer retention.

Chris Blackman from AllClear said:

“This is a terrific opportunity for us to get closer to the wider broker community and we are convinced that it will prove very popular to brokers wanting to offer a comprehensive service to their customers. We are greatly looking forward to working with BIBA to ensure we fully meet the broker needs.”

AllClear has long been the market leader in providing travel insurance to those with pre-existing medical conditions. From the comparatively mild ailments, such as Diabetes or High Blood Pressure, right through to those terminally ill with Cancer.  AllClear has been able to help hundreds of thousands of customers to travel where they could otherwise not find cover.

With more than 10 years experience in this niche market, AllClear provides a speedy process of medical screening and quoting in one simple operation.

BIBA Medical Travel will be available from Thursday 7th April via the BIBA website and will be formally launched at the BIBA conference in Manchester on May 11 and 12.
