InterBay has launched a new broker guide, Diversify the InterBay Way, designed to help intermediaries build confidence in commercial and semi-commercial lending and identify opportunities within their existing client base.
As more brokers look to support clients with a wider range of property finance needs, the guide offers a practical introduction to commercial and semi-commercial lending. It covers:
- industry terminology and valuation approaches
- underwriting considerations
- owner occupier lending
- the end-to-end process of placing a commercial case with InterBay
InterBay developed the guide to support brokers who may be seeing growing client interest in commercial property but have limited experience in the sector. It aims to make commercial lending easier to understand and show how specialist support can help brokers broaden their proposition, expand into new sectors and support a wider range of clients.
Marc Callaghan, head of commercial mortgages at InterBay (pictured), said many brokers are working with clients who could benefit from commercial or semi-commercial finance. "But some may not yet feel confident having those conversations or placing those cases," said Callaghan. "We created Diversify the InterBay Way to make commercial lending more accessible and show that it doesn't have to be complicated."
He added that opportunities exist across a range of client types, from a landlord considering a mixed-use property to a business owner looking to purchase their premises or an experienced investor expanding into new sectors.
"There are opportunities for brokers to deepen client relationships and grow their business," he said. "This guide provides a practical starting point while highlighting the specialist support available from InterBay at every stage of the journey."
