"The more members we gain from all parts of the housing industry, the more quickly the digitisation of transparent, secure and shareable data will be a reality. Organisations such as Click2Check, who share our goals, help us to turn our mission into a practical solution"
- Maria Harris - Open Property Data Association
Click2Check has become the newest member of the Open Property Data Association, strengthening the organisation’s efforts to accelerate the homebuying process through improved data sharing. The company provides credit checks, anti-money laundering reports, identity verification and Open Banking transactional data for financial advisers, mortgage intermediaries, estate agents and solicitors.
The platform aims to streamline background checks by bringing multiple data points together in one place. Advisers can access credit reports, AML and IDV results, and banking information within minutes. This approach aligns with the OPDA’s goal to encourage transparent and digital data-sharing standards across the property sector.
OPDA’s wider mission is to ensure that each part of the mortgage and property chain can share information in a trusted, digital format. Click2Check’s technology supports that direction by making credit and banking reports accessible to financial services professionals, while its AML and IDV tools help reduce fraud risk. The company says these features directly contribute to the outcomes the association is working toward.
“It is important that more organisations join the OPDA to contribute to what they are trying to achieve for the benefit of all,” said David Jones, CEO. “I have seen firsthand the inefficient nature of mortgage processing over twenty years of supplying business solutions to the mortgage sector."
"My wife, who worked as a mortgage adviser, would spend countless hours chasing bank and credit information only to find that, when it eventually came, it was not a true reflection of the client’s financial health. This problem was widespread, so as a result, we developed a faster, more secure and more accurate process for obtaining this vital information, which led to the creation of Click2Check.”
“OPDA’s mission aligns perfectly with our belief that digitising the homebuying process will revolutionise the customer experience, improve property-buying and reduce the time taken to get a mortgage,” Jones continued. “Click2Check significantly speeds up the process, so joining the OPDA to play an active role was a logical step for us. It is also a step towards achieving our own mission of making things quicker and easier for brokers.”
“We are continuing our mission to transform and improve the home buying and selling process,” noted Maria Harris, chair of the OPDA (pictured). “This is gaining support across government and increasingly, through our growing number of members. The more members we gain from all parts of the housing industry, the more quickly the digitisation of transparent, secure and shareable data will be a reality.”
“Organisations such as Click2Check, who share our goals, help us to turn our mission into a practical solution,” Harris added.
