Specialist lender Albatross Lending Group has joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a lender member.
The specialist lender provides short-term property finance and secured funding for UK SMEs. Its property finance division works with individuals, companies and overseas borrowers across a range of residential and semi-commercial funding needs, while its SME division supports viable businesses seeking finance for growth, investment, acquisitions, working capital, refinancing and restructuring.
The BDLA is the UK's only trade association focused on representing bridging and development lenders and the customers they serve. It promotes high standards across the sector and gives members a voice with government, regulators and the wider property finance industry. Lender and associate members also receive market insight, networking, events, media activity and opportunities to contribute to the development of the sector.
BDLA welcomes specialist lender
"Specialist lenders have an important role to play where transactions require speed, flexibility or a more individual approach to underwriting when it comes to lending on property or providing SME finance," said Adam Tyler, CEO of the BDLA (pictured).
"We're really pleased to welcome Albatross, which operates both of these areas, and its experience will add another useful perspective to our lender membership."
"A key part of the BDLA's work is ensuring that the practical experience of lenders informs our engagement with brokers, regulators, policymakers and wider stakeholders," he added. "We look forward to the Albatross team contributing to those conversations."
"At Albatross, we have always placed the customer journey at the centre of how we operate, combining a commercial approach to lending with clear communication and direct access to decision-makers," said Joshua Field, chief operating officer at Albatross Lending Group.
"Joining the BDLA is a natural next step as we continue to grow, giving us the opportunity to contribute to the conversations shaping our sector. We look forward to sharing our experience, learning from fellow members and working together to support high standards across specialist lending."
