"New homes are an important market where we have invested heavily in improving both the quality and quantity of leads we deliver to our housebuilder partners, and it’s fantastic to see those efforts driving strong results at a time when builders want to support sales rates"
- Alex Rose - Zoopla
Zoopla has introduced a series of updates aimed at increasing the visibility of new homes to prospective buyers, resulting in a 53% increase in new homes leads for housebuilders year-on-year.
These developments come as market forces challenge the visibility of new homes. Resale housing stock is at a record high, creating greater competition for new homes, which have fewer sales outlets nationwide.
Zoopla’s lead performance for housebuilders is up across all regions, countering the trend in the resale market, where applicant demand is rising only in single digits. The new homes market in London faces some of the greatest pressures, but lead volumes are up 10%, providing builders with a critical source of quality buyers.
The rise in leads has been driven by improvements to Zoopla’s search experience, designed to enhance the visibility of new homes and address common pain points for housebuilders, such as limited consumer understanding of the advantages of new properties.
Key enhancements include:
Showcasing local new-build developments on map view search results, making it easier for buyers to discover properties nearby.
Highlighting the benefits of new builds on listing cards, increasing consideration for these homes.
Adding contact detail capture pop-ups to popular content, such as new-build brochures and virtual tours, to gather higher-quality leads.
Commenting on the performance, Alex Rose, commercial director at Zoopla said, “At Zoopla, our focus is on driving value for money for all our customers."
"New homes are an important market where we have invested heavily in improving both the quality and quantity of leads we deliver to our housebuilder partners, and it’s fantastic to see those efforts driving strong results at a time when builders want to support sales rates."
"By making new homes more visible across Zoopla and helping buyers better understand the benefits of new-build properties, we’re able to deliver higher-intent enquiries even in a challenging market. This is just the start, and we’re excited to continue innovating to support the new homes market in the months ahead.”
